ChristmasChristmas is the busiest time of year at the Zara Flora flower shop in East Grinstead. Right through December, up until the store closes at around 2pm on Christmas Eve, Zara and the florists are designing and making up festive wreaths, table arrangements, bouquets and floral decorations. If you are Christmas shopping in East Grinstead, please call in to see us at No 1, Ship Street, where you will find a wide selection of flowers, freshly prepared arrangements and bouquets, plants, gifts, toys and decorations, and can look through our portfolio of Christmas designs. If you live outside the area, or overseas, or if you simply can't come into East Grinstead, contact us by telephone, email or fax and we'll be happy to help you. You can view examples of our work for previous clients in the Christmas section of the gallery on this web site. We experience heavy demand for bespoke items at Christmas, and to be sure of obtaining preferences in flowers and materials, we encourage clients to book as early as possible for made-to-order table arrangements, floral centre-pieces and floristry of specific themed content/design.
Zara Flora designs use stunning flowers (Amaryllis, Anthuriums, Grand Prix Roses), traditional natural ingredients (green and blue pine, holly, ivy, pine cones, twigs, berries, mistletoe) and all sorts of colourful seasonal embellishments to express the festive mood. Hand made natural wreaths of pine, customised with the colours and decorations of your choice, range in price from GBP 25 to GBP 50. Christmas table arrangements cost from GBP 30 in oasis and from GBP 40 in a vase. Aqua bouquets (packed in water) start at GBP 39. If you live locally and have a particular vase or container at home, which you like to use as a centrepiece/feature of your Christmas decorations, why not drop it off at the shop, let us design a beautiful arrangement for it, and then just collect when you are ready? Zara Flora is the sole appointed Master Florist for the postal areas of East Grinstead (RH19) in West Sussex, Forest Row (RH18) in East Sussex, and Lingfield (RH7) in Surrey, and offers a same day/next day flower delivery service throughout these districts. The town of East Grinstead has a particular claim to fame when it comes to Christmas which is that the lyrics to the famous carol "Good King Wenceslas" were written here in the 19th Century by John Mason Neale, the Warden of Sackville College from 1846 until his death in 1866 Wikipedia tells us that Good King Wenceslas is a popular Christmas Carol about a king who goes out to give alms to a poor peasant on the Feast of Stephen (the second day of Christmas, December 26). During the journey, his page is about to give up the struggle against the cold weather, but is enabled to continue by the heat miraculously emanating from the king's footprints in the snow. The legend is based on life of the historical Saint Wenceslaus I, Duke of Bohemia (907-935), known in the Czech language as Svatý Václav. |
